Malossol 的做法，是用少於5%的鹽來保存新鮮的魚子醬，一般的特徵是顆粒大且飽滿，味道原汁原味，十分鮮甜。

魚子醬最佳儲存溫庋為攝氏-2至+2度之間。魚子醬開封後必須將蓋按實，儲存於冰箱冷藏位置，並於三天內享用完畢。
